Edit: My bed was stuck on super cold during the Amazon Web Services outage. I updated the UI and the information about how much sleep I'm getting is more cluttered and incomprehensible. Good luck if you need reading glasses , because the font is thin and narrow with no way to adjust it. I wish I could change the font back to where it was readable. I don't care about autopilot adjustments, I just want to see my sleep graph. The app still lags quite a bit, the update fixed the crashing at least

App won't load and I've wasted 45 minutes trying to figure out what's wrong. Uninstalled it to see if that would help and now it won't even let me log in. Plus, it decided to increase the temperature so the bed is TOO HOT!!!!!! The app also won't open on my husband's phone, so something is clearly wrong with it. What a terrible experience right before trying to go to sleep, which is going to be challenging anyway since it's too hot!

With the AWS outage eight sleep's biggest flaw came to light - the products completely stop working if the app is out! Zero manual controls. It was, I swear, 100 degrees in my bed at 1 am, I spent an hour awake, trying to figure out how to escape the heat and fix the pod. After an hour I just unplugged the whole thing and had an awful 4 remaining hours of sleep. I also had to change my alarms since I couldn't rely on the pod waking me up if the app was out. Unacceptable for the price

With our latest release, we’re introducing our first release of Backup Mode — an outage-proof experience that keeps your Pod working even when cloud systems are down. The app automatically connects to your Pod over Bluetooth, letting you adjust temperature, turn your Pod on or off, flatten the Base, and dismiss alarms without interruption. Once service is restored, your data syncs seamlessly to ensure Autopilot and reports remain accurate.
